It's so hard to get at a computer around here!! I was so happy to see people writing and updating!! That's the best xmas gift I can think of. I'll try to keep getting letters out! Balkanabat is great, and I'm sure you'll hear more of it in the next two years! Best wishes to all!

As your Mom said, it's great to hear of your experiences and are REALLY glad to NOT be there.
It's like the enjoyment we had and the continuing smiles as we read of our Mark's adventure with the Pirates of the Caribb. and the really great log he kept as he brought the Lady Washington (aka Interceptor) home to the home port in Aberdeen WA. It seemed their journey home was UPHILL all the way, just the way is is on a big map. And all the wind/waves/current were running the other way -- down.
He's home again right now after spending the past year as 1st Mate on a small cruise ship (100 passenger). Spent the winter in Sea of Cortez between Mexico and Baja Calif. and the summer between Juneau and Ketchican.
We'll see where he goes next
